Multiple Choice Part

The Multiple Choice Part of the DVSA Car or Motorcycle Theory Test is delivered using a touch screen computer and mouse. You have 57 minutes to answer 50 multiple-choice questions.

The test is designed to assess your knowledge of road rules and safety practices.

To take the test, you need to visit a designated test center and bring a valid form of identification.

Hazard Perception Part

The Hazard Perception Part of the DVSA Car or Motorcycle Theory Test records your responses through the use of a computer mouse button. You’ll watch 14 video clips and need to identify potential hazards on the road.

The test is designed to assess your ability to recognize and respond to potential hazards while driving or riding a motorcycle.

Both parts of the test are taken on the same day, and you need to pass both to pass the test. If you fail either part, you’ll need to retake both parts of the test.
